The Goujon Caille award was given by the festival’s Selection Committee. Since most of the film was shot in Louisiana, it was an honor for the film to receive this award!

Lafayette, LA – The 6th Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival closed its five-day run of film screenings, panel discussions and social gatherings on Sunday, Jan. 30th at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.  There a large and lively crowd was treated to a series of top-notch documentary films and filmmakers, including actor and humorist Harry Shearer and his new film about Katrina and the flooding of New Orleans, “The Big Uneasy.”  Colorado-based Marca Hagenstad was also on hand to attend the Louisiana premiere of her film, “Coals to Newcastle,” an incredibly well-crafted, music driven film, which received the Festival’s top prize, the Screening Committee Award. Ms. Hagenstad was “thrilled” to receive the Festival’s Goujon Caille Award and expressed thanks for “a terrific festival and for extending such wonderful cajun hospitality to us.”
